We read about Harvard University’s decision and now in Europe OAPEN - Open Access Publishing in European Networks will be negotiating with the European Commission in March about funding for their initiative to “fully explore the possibilities of Open Access in the humanities and social sciences.” The project, first of its kind, will launch in September 2008 to the degree it is funded. Presently, the members are: Amsterdam University Press, Georg-August Universität Göttingen, University of Copenhagen, Museum Tusculanum Press, Manchester University Press, Presses Universitaires de Lyon and Firenze University Press.
